My Story

Before I came to UGA I was a licensed dispatcher/jailer and then a Registered Professional Appraiser (RPA) for 10 years. The last 5 years as an RPA, I also supplemented my income by getting a certification to teach defensive driving. My combined incomes from both jobs amounted to only $38,000. After having my last of 4 children, I decided to say at home to enjoy motherhood. Six years later I was faced with marital problems and the need for an income. Instead of letting life get in my way I used it as a motivator. My dad always said, “There is nothing you can’t do if you put your mind to it and try hard enough.” I wrote my first business in August, 1999 and proceeded to win Quick Start, never to look back again. In my first year I made $90,000. And today I make a six figure income paying more in taxes then I made as an RPA (5 years of schooling). What a blessing to have that problem! I just bought a new Harley so, I can tell you that working hard really pays off! If I had to write down on paper from day one what I expected to gain financially from the UGA opportunity, I would have sold myself short.

My oldest son now works as an agent with UGA finishing his first full month in the business February 2004. And in regards to my 3 younger children, the best part about working with UGA is that I get to be part of all their functions. I love UGA and it’s commitment to the agent. I pinch myself everyday after thanking God for leading me to this opportunity. All of my friends and relatives were skeptical of a straight commission pay opportunity but I knew that if I didn’t give it a chance I would always wonder or regret not trying. I’m so very thankful I did. I’m able to help out my parents and take my kids on vacations we could previously, only dream of - I call it “making memories.” I could never begin to give back to UGA what they have given to me.
